Water Use Licensing
The activities of collecting water for human consumption, industry, irrigation, energy production as well as the discharge of urban or industrial waste water require licensing according to Law 58/2005 of 29 December and Decree-Law 226-A/2007 of 31 May.
In accordance with Law 58/2005 the following activities join the ones referred to in the previous paragraph: - Immersion of waste; - Temporary occupation for construction of beach facilities or structures and equipment to support road traffic; - Temporary occupation for construction or alteration of hydraulic infrastructure or its implementation; - Recharge of beaches and artificial silting and artificial recharge and injection of groundwater; - Sports competitions and navigation, as well as their infrastructure and support equipment; - Installation of infrastructure and floating equipment and biogenetic cultures; - Sowing, planting and cutting of trees and shrubs; - Completion of landfills, excavation or aggregate extraction.
