Decree-Law No. 151-B/2013, of October 31, constitutes the legal framework for Environmental Impact Assessment. Annexes I and II lists the types of projects requiring an Environmental Impact Study in advance of their implementation.
As a preventive tool, the Environmental Impact Assessment aims to ensure a fair management of natural resources and protection of environmental quality, promoting Sustainable Development. The Environmental Impact Assessment, and the mitigation of the impacts identified, is most effective at the design stage, where it’s less complex and costly to prevent significant environmental impacts.
Holding an Environmental Impact Study requires thorough knowledge in various fields such as landscape, fauna, flora, ecology, geology, socioeconomics, soils, water resources, atmosphere, climate, archaeological and architectural heritage and others. AmbiPrime´s staff, and external consultants, are skilled in the various relevant areas to conduct rigorous studies and in accordance with the requirements of the organizations that assess environmental impact studies.
Under Environmental Impact Assessment we also elaborate Environmental Incidence Studies and Projects Environmental Compliance Reports.
